Fix Data May Be Corrupt Error on Google TV (2021)
First things first, when you get “Data may be corrupt” or “Can’t load Android system” error on Google TV, you can’t do anything with the remote since you are in Android recovery. You will have to physically access the Chromecast on the back of the TV, while the dongle is connected to the TV. If you have a wall-mounted TV then it’s going to be a tough task for you but you need to perform this small operation anyhow.
You will find a small button on the back of the Chromecast dongle. If you press it once then it will cycle through “Try again” and “Factory data reset” options in Recovery mode. Long-pressing will select that option and perform the selected action. So I would recommend you to move to the “Try again” option and then long-press the button. It should restart your Chromecast and boot directly to Google TV without any issues. In case that does not happen and you still get the “Data may be corrupt” error on your Google TV then you will have to factory reset your Chromecast. Once you do that, you will boot fine without any error. Keep in mind, once you boot back, make sure to update the OS build to the latest version to stay away from Google TV’s frequent boot error.
Google has already released a patch to fix this particular issue. Just open Settings -> System -> About -> System Update and check for updates. If you are on Build number 200918.033 then you are already on the updated build.

So that is how you can fix the boot error on the new Chromecast dongle with Google TV. So far, in my testing, I have not faced the boot issue, but I am definitely facing remote lag which is very frustrating. I hope Google takes stock of the situation and improves the overall stability of the new Chromecast. Anyway, that is all from us.
